Woke up late, so got permission from my parents 2 drive to school hahaha in the end, i reached early and no one was there yet! BUt nonetheless, it was a fruitful training session. I tink the seni team is really getting there :) still not perfect but insya allah all of us will rise to the ocassion.
Tomorrow will be logs day...so gonna be bz the whole day. I shall promise myself not be stressed out. Let it flow....let things run by themselves. I will expect that we mite forget sum stuffs, but its ok, there is still time to cover these minor2 details. I need to rest. I got Opening Ceremony to handle and then my match to concentrate on hehe
Its my dad's bdae and we had a nice dinner at Tambuah Mas at Tanglin Shopping Centre. I wasnt really of much fun 2dae heh, was sleepy and tired after training dis morning..... :p

Unity Primary Budaya Camp
The p4 kids were adorable. They had mcm2 kerenah - haraaam nak campur laki pompuan....gaduh pasal the boys play cheat/too rough, ade yg mentel, ade yg cute, ade yg suka nah nak jadi singa, ada yg tak abis2 main bola, ade hyper giler, ade yg senyap, ade got makings to be mats and minahs haha....but overall when asked 'seronok tak?', dey answered 'seronooooooooooooookkkk!!!!!' hahaha dat alone satisfy me lots :)
But it was super tiring...we had to be facis to the kids, jaga our own stations, shout at the top of our voices to make dem listen 2 us, take care of their safety and also teach dem our speciality of budaya melayu. I think all of us are a multi-talented bunch hehe...kene self praise sikit hahaha i mean, we took care of so many stations and played so many games with the kids. We started out slow. Me, Nuraini and Faatihah took abt 30 kids while Lin, Kamal and Fairuz took the other 30 and played a couple of rounds of 'Tiup Angin Tiup', 'Madu ngan Lebah', 'Kucing ngan tikus' and 'Tupai, Pokok, Gempa Bumi' which involved lots of screaming, laughter, smiles and running! And even after 1 whole our of that, the kids were not tired!!!!
I tink Kamal was great in giving instructions to them and making dem listen :p Cikgu Rani was 'exceptional' in giving lame jokes 2 keep the kids occupied while we set up our respective stations ahha...Permainan Tradisional had 3 games...Batu Serembat, Congkak and Capteh. Padahal it was like one the very few times i played capteh but me and kamal main sebat kasi instructions and the kids listened hahaha Lin and Faatihah ajar budak2 main congkak and fairuz/nuraini main batu serembat.
Round 2 involved Silat (Olahraga), Gendang/Kompang and Menganyam Ketupat. My station wif Nuraini was a hit wif the kids! muahahaha dey were so excited getting to kick and punch the padding and of coz i singled out bakat2 terpendam :p but it was so difficult to control dem, make dem queue up and girls fighting with the guys at the back...sheesh ahhaa
The lunch break diden stop dem from running around....the guys playing soccer wif a sponge ball while the girls were sprinting to and fro. Lin standard...gi layan the girls who waited to makan wif her...awww so sweet hehe and so, the girls went to solat leaving me and kamal and fairuz to layan 60 kids! We tried playing charades but it diden work and so Kamal juz like asked who wan 2 play gendang, go. Who nak silat, go. Who nak main lebah ngan madu..go ahaha...and for some reason, me and fairuz ended up giving like 20 plus kids tanding drills haha...'cikgu, bole join tak?' :p
And there were 'miang' girls ahha who waited outside the toilet for me and kamal....coz dey think kamal is hansem! and dat dey wan me to give dem private silat lessons....haiz budak2 ni hahaha Round 3 is the most exciting round. Lin and Faatihah gave them drama lessons on breathing, acting and playing 'Freeze' the kids were laughing and enjoying themselves! Kamal and Fairuz taught them dikir steps and paluan gendang...realli nice :) some of dem can really play well! shd have invited dem to play kompang for us for IVP closing ceremony hahaha and me/nuraini taught dem seni (jurus wajib and bukak2 bunga) ahahhaa dunno y dey always look forward 2 my station yay! :p
We had a final telematch to allow dem 2 apply wad dey learnt for the whole day :) and also an impromptu silat cum gendang performance infront of the parents who came. OK dat was totally not planned...so it was berterabur!!! But on the whole i guess the kids did have fun, we did our best imparting our skills and teaching dem in a fun/enjoyable way. Kudos to faatihah, lin, nuraini, fairuz, kamal and of coz Cikgu Rani. We are the Team of the Day!

My Weekend
I think that the medical team and technical team did a solid job! The medical checkup was systematic, we started on time, schools cooperated with us and there was a great system of moving the participants from one station to another. And they were all happy....wearing the t-shirt already :D
It was nice to see familiar faces...i hope the competition runs well...maintaining friendly rivalry :) and the technical team...it was smooth balloting. So great job guys! As for ceremonies...well the rough plan was there...but so many nitty gritty details that still needs to be ironed out. But other than dat im really pleased that the schools are showing lotsa cooperation for keris mandat and mass regu
And on sunday morning, had a nice brunch at jalan kayu...well....sorta a mini celebration having gotten my results the day before. I must say im very syukur for getting great results....my best so far :) with that out of the way, concentrate fadz! 2 more weeks oni :)

SayuSaat demi saat
Detik demi detik
Semakin hari semakin dekat pada ujian besar ini,
Harapan and keinginan ditandingi masalah dan cubaan.
Aku bermohon restu ibu bapa
Aku berdoa meminta pertolongan
Aku inginkan hati yang tenang, fikiran yang lapang
Aku meminta ketabahan dan kekuatan.
Kawan-kawanku yang setia lagi berdikari,
Sanggup mendengar bisikan hatiku,
Mencerahkan renungan jauhku
Mendedahkan ku pada irama hidup yang bergelora.
Tali persahabatan dan hubungan mesra
Kasih sayang dan igauan rindu
Akan ku simpan di hatiku
Takkan lesap dari mindaku....

Breaking PointWhen you have so much to do, so much to think about, so much to remind pple about and to cap it all off, others expect you to pull off results at the last minute...i tink that would be wen most pple reach their breakin point. I might have...and its thanks to great frens and understanding by my own comm members who made me calmer just now.
I guess sometimes u juz get taken for granted because ure nice and do lotsa things. Im micro managing too much and wen i do stuff, i do it properly. I do it quick. It gets irritating when pple dilly dally and tangguh2....simple things that can be done quickly and get it out of the way becomes stalled. I wan confirmation coz then i can stop thinking about it and can concentrate on other stuffs. Its tiring...it doesnt help dat im shagged from training, and a new responsibility added.
I appreciate cooperation. Dats all im asking......and insya allah i will pull thru and we all will do a good job, no an excellent job. This is one of the toughest projects undertaken coz it deals with outside organizations and idealist leaders. Ideals/Goals have to be matched with practicality and capability....grandeur is secondary.
Its juz me. I wun break. I refuse to break. I will proceed....like maly says...concentrate! hehehe

Budaya CampHad a meeting with faatihah nye tuition agency nye person in charge for a briefing of the cultural camp for unity primary nez monday. Well, the whole session realli was kinda a blur...i was nodding my head for the sake of it haha but i did get the gist of what he was trying to say. He is a motivational instructor and i have no qualms abt his capability and his success with students, making dem WANT to study and achieve success.
But there were several things that struck a cord. He was mentioning about Malay parents/adults have dis mentality that as long as Malay teens join dikir, silat, tarian, kompang, gendang....it is at least better than if these kids get involved in bende2 tak senonoh. He was challenging dis convenient excuse by saying why dikir/silat and not bahas/public speaking skills etc?
I remember during PSK 2006 wen the president of persisi was speaking at the opening ceremony that he is heartened to see the growing interest in silat and that it is better to see these kids doing silat rather than get influenced by 'unsur2 or gejala yang kurang baik'. So i ask u, is it a convenient excuse? I say....being in silat/dikir does not mean dey dun get influenced by bende2 tak baik...coz u meet all kinds of pple in silat and dikir and kompang and tarian. Some may have gotten into trouble with the law, some come from poor background, some are in gangs, some smoke/drink but there are others who are uni grads, alim and so forth. I say that what all these pple who choose to be part of budaya melayu share a passion and that is something u cant take away from them...yes, public speaking skills are important too, but being part of a colourful budaya is something to be proud of too :)
another thing he mentioned...he said he set up a fund to help poor families, pasal its time to give back to community. I applaud his commitment to the malay cause. But if u take a step back...everyone seems to be helping. U name it...education trust fund by jamiyah, mendaki issue of scholarships and loans, individuals setting up their own funds....so if so many are helping, who gets the money? y are there still so many out there who needs our help? Sorri for the negative tone, but it is the reality of the state of our community...
but it does seem interesting dis camp...so i wanna see how much i can impart on these p4 kids...im not dat fantastic with kids....but we shall see :)

Training Camp
training camp gave a whole new meaning to the word tired. It was such a shagged-helic time but at the same time, very refreshing and satisfying :) there were many a time when i kept looking at the clock wishing it to move faster coz training was so tough and wishing dat it would be 6pm on sunday so dat break camp and go home! haha not only was training dat was tiring but those break/rest times were filled with ivp stuffs to do...tokens of appreciation, ceremonies, bazaar recee, plan of action, manpower, liaising and yes meetings! But on the whole, i enjoyed myself coz managed to talk 2 pple whom ive never been close to before...its a nice feeling...to know that there are so many other nice pple out there, be it the guys and gals and the coaches too :)
Day 1
Came early so that i can put my bag in the room, so dun have to carry it around to and from masjid hahaha met up with maly for lunch and of coz updates on pbm, ms, silat, ivp, abt wan wanting to get married (dis is a topic never not discussed haha) later joined md noor, dayah and zul for a second round of lunch :p at masjid, met up wif hakim and talked more abt the clash of events on 2june...oh well wad to do? haha
It was a slack afternoon and altho all of us supposed 2 be painting banner, pple slept hahaha and i busied myself wif writing pantuns with nuraini for token of appreciation. Yes...fairuz contributed........2 lines hahahha training at nite was tough as usual...but were not mentally prepared for what is yet to come. After training, the guys lepaked in my room, main guitar, singing, playing online games till like 1am hahaha and altho we were supposed 2 be sleeping, me md noor, zul and fazli had a 'guy talk' dat lasted till 4 am ahhah by the time i fell asleep and started talkin nonsense while sleeping haha
Day 2
A morning run which took us from school till al-ameen and beyond! can u imagine dat????? we actually ran more than 7km for more than an hr. I was soooo shagged la coz we diden have water breaks in between and our safety van got lost...so we 'puasa' for another 1/2 hr after our 1 hr run. Mcm nak pengsan! haha ok im exaggerating. But applause to the girls who actually endured and completed the run! its realli great dat everyone motivated each other to complete it :) and that wasnt the end, after lunch and a 3 hr break which was spent doing IVP stuff, we had another 3hr training session...which ended with me having one of the worst cramps ive experienced...i juz lay there in agony and erzwin had to carry me out of the gelanggang...so embarassing..........
dinner, wash up and IVP meeting haha....see wad rest did we have? :p but i must say, the event is realli coming together with juz two weeks left. Now its the nitty gritty details dat have to be settled. I noe we can pull dis off and make it the best ivp ever :D dis time, we decided not to talk so much and just sleep hahahahha
Day 3
another run, but dis time only to west coast park (so lucky!) but of coz countless push ups and sit ups and sprints along the way. and then after a short break...resume another 3 hrs of training....i tink im like super shagged lah! but on the whole, it was really fun...those eating sessions at the dining hall, talking to one another along the corridor of our hall...bumping into girls with all kinds of ways of covering their hair, coz dorang tk pakai tudung hahahaha and yes cam whoring! i will upload the pictures soon haha byk selenge moments :p

Well not exactly an enjoyable holiday hahaha but a well deserved one nonetheless :) been a topsy turvy sem and somehow i miss school haha dun get me wrong...of coz i dun mean i miss the readings and mountains of work and assignments/tutorials to complete. I miss the routineness of school, lunches, laughs, the pple i hang out wif...
because its hols...i dun get to see dem often. Its tough to fit everyone's schedules especially wen everyone has plans, meetings, training, etc so yeah....bile nak bowling??????? padahal im the one who is always bz ahakz. Well, i like the busy-ness tho, coz keeps my mind bz...and yes im micro managing too much! ahha i have to learn 2 trust pple and let go. not keep making sure everythin's perfect coz things are bound to go wrong :p murphy's law haha

Chin up and Smile :)
I think that's the catch phrase for the day. Hehe been telling that to pple all nite on msn...No matter wads on ur mind, pass on that smile of urs. Anyway today's another bz day. Went bugis alone to shop for slippers and contacts, den had a meeting with Md Noor and Raiyan regarding the Plan of Action. And i tink its almost done...proud of it hehehe budden still have changes and more details for the final touch. Managed to get some songs for IVP too. So yeah....bz bz haha
As promised, i went and got myself two books: Pictures of u by Matt Thorne and Perfect Skin by Nick Earls. Shall read them tmr and yes i treated myself to hot chocolate while at lib heh padahal baru baik sakit...and i haven fully recovered yet. Please take care of urself, if u happen to fall sick :) and dun be notti like me....maseh sakit tapi gi training hahaha So yes...maybe that would be my hobby dis holidays....goin 2 the lib and getting books to read. I sound like a nerd ahakz but oh well maly said that reading is a form of escapism...escaping from reality. Well.... yeah i guess hehhe

Brand New Friend
I noe its like 3am in the morning but i couldnt sleep....so i re-read the book'Brand New Friend' By Mike Gayle. I tink dis is by far my favourite of the Mike Gayle series. Jannah recommended Mike Gayle a few years back and ive read all his books...5 so far :) Its witty, not excessively funny and very true to reality - it especially gives meaning to the term 'just good frens'
I tink i will head down to the lib tmr and get myself another book. Its been realli bz but reading on the way to school or wherever or even before plopping down to sleep is a great thing to do. Will let ya noe any other good reads hehe
nitez! or morning rather :p

Silat....I have no life!
Yesterday was 14 hours of silat. dats so crazy man! haha meeting, training, meeting again, another meeting and then training. I have no life haha and im still deciding if im taking part or not dis year. My category has 15 competitors! bile nak menang? I really dun noe if we taking too much time planning the perfect IVP. Its becoming more and more idealistic by the minute, although i must say that its really really coming into place. Food/marketing managed to secure sponsorships, Faizola's posters and t-shirts are fantastic, Faisal's logistic plans are I must say top notch, Nura, Fairuz, Nuraini and Diana's efforts in planning the ceremonies, invitations, letters to MPs and ministers medals, tokens of appreciation are very much commendable, bazaar's looking good with more and more stalls coming in....what else can i say? Ahh yes technical team! Their professionalism is superb la...and their efforts have reaped in a record number of 235 competitors, far surpassing last year's ivp. And PD md noor, kudos to him for his leadership...and not forgetting the APDs, me and kamal (we still competing with each other whose committee perform the best! hahaha kental la kamal :p)
So wads the problem? hahaha i tink wif so many competitors, the chances of us winning overall champion juz slashed by half. and we haven realli been concentrating on fitness and skills, techniques and stamina. so many of us will be running around on the actual day that we may lack supporters, time to prepare etc. i really hope we can pull this off :) and actually win this thing. This is our year, Insya Allah
Lots still needs to be done. I still have to learn not to micro manage. Its super tiring.....

Shagged
Its only the 3rd training and im like super shagged. Found it so difficult to wake up the past 2 days. Haiya. But my arms looking pretty good. Doesnt hurt anymore....but im still gonna be careful. So thats somethin positive to look at haha
Lotsa stuff still needs to be settled for the planning and organizing bit of silat. Like we have to really dwell on the nitty gritty part of it. And it doesnt help we have 2 idealist advisors...sheesh susah nak cope between practicality and ideal. Oh well, yesterday's meeting with Ms Rahayu was realli2 good. Although we kinda screwed up bits like langgar-ing all the protocols in inviting the Minister to IVP, somehow she found such delight that we managed to come up wif nice hand made souvenirs and found chairs for the GOH and VVIPs. Talking abt positivity, she made our day hehehehe :)
Gym training later...and going PERSISI tmr. Saturday training. Ritez...its all packed haha

Food For Thought
When things happen the way they do, some of us are quick to attribute them to fate. We say that 'oh its fated that we meet' or 'its fated that although im sick, i get good grades' and so on. U get my drift? haha And because it is fate...dats y u accept or hang on to it more. Sometimes when bad things happen, u get depressed coz ure 'fated' to be this way.
But wad if u take it to another level....what if these things that we call fate, are actually examples of coincidences? Then, the power of those incidences mellow down doesnt it? So does fate = coincidences? Fate has a religious connotation to it and wen we attach events to fate, we believe it more strongly. If we call them coincidences, den its meaning has been lowered.
Lets bring it to a 3rd level of thought. What if fate and coincidences, whichever you choose to call, are linked to the power of the mind? We gravitate towards the thoughts of dominance. If we keep thinking that life sux and is rotten and that everybody is unkind to us, sometimes dont u find u attract all the rotten stuff? and den u sae its fate that i am dis way. If we keep thinking that life offers so much opportunities and people respect and love us the way we are, don't u think dat for some reason, life is good to us? And we get good opportunities and meet good and caring and loving people and that we get loved in return? Den perhaps, we say 'oh, what a coincidence?'
I got this from Andrew Matthews 'Being Happy'. I tink its worth a read to remind ourselves that we reap wad we sow...what we get depends on our outlook of life. Im not saying dat im debunking fate. I still strongly believe in fate...I also know that we are what we make out to be and that involves the choices we make. We choose to be happy and help pple, or we choose to ignore pple, get angry at everythin and think life is so unfair to us. If we combine the power of our mind to gravitate towards positivity and believe in the true essence of fate, den insya-Allah we will be successful people in life, surrounded by those who love and care for us :)
So i ask you....choose....

Atiqah's Birthday!Ok dis is gonna be my first post in my new blogskin! yahoo!!! its really simple and cute...not too guy-ish, not too girly...budden wad is guy-ish or girlish? social constructs! hahaha anyway, i wanna try and edit the picture and add my own sweet words :)
I've been sick since tuesday nite. Yet, i haven had rest :p notti me hehe Weds morn i had a paper which i coughed my way thru literally, den stayed back in sch to accompany the library geng blajar since dey have been soo great company during the exam period. Den i went out at 12 midnight to meet the guys 2 watch soccer at Al-Ameen at sembawang. It was realli cold and maybe i caught the flu bug wen i tompang alfian on the motor home. I look weird in a helmet hahaha i tink i got realli sick on thurs and my mum forced me to go to the doc heh and so i wasnt able to join the guys for soccer dis afternoon....so sad :( but as my 'twin' fazli said.... biler2 boleh main bola per!
Since its been reallli long since i met dem, i decided to go for the bday dinner and it was fun :) i realised ive so not been in touch wif dem that there were so many things that have happened. Both ups and downs. One of them broke up after 2 years and i diden noe. One just got attached and i diden noe. One of them got 4 guys chasing after her and i diden noe. And my fren's mum has cancer and I DIDEN NOE. I felt so sad dat i drifted apart from them dat important things like dis i am so clueless. I seriously diden noe how to react when i heard abt it. sigh
But on a lighter note, it was juz laughter and laughter all the way :D farid and ahmad as usual were high on their lame jokes and the girls...juz girl talk and laughter! well here are some pics. Happy bday tiqah! welcome to club-23!!! *bday hugzzz*

Just a lil Something
Things go wrong, Things Turn Bad,
Things Don't Go The Way You Want.
Don't Give Up, Don't Lose Heart,
Don't You Cry Coz' I Wanna See You Smile.
Don't Be Stressed, Fret Not My Dear,
A Friend, I'm Here, I'm Yours to Keep.
One Smile, One Hug, One Wish,
One Promise I'll Be There For You.
-Anonymous-
I like dis poem coz it serves as a reminder to all of us that even as we go thru exams, relationships and troubles, there is always someone there for you, either your friend, your lover or even your family :)
