Back with 1000 pictures
After 10 days in Thailand and Cambodia...im finally back. I realise i miss home, my family and friends and FOOD! I've been a vegetarian and biscuit person for most part of the trip, only having seafood when we have the dinner beramai2. Its been a great experience...a trip to remember :) I got blown away by the beauty of the architecture, monuments, sculptures, statues, temples and art. I got mesmerized by the serenity of the countryside and nature. I experienced the simple and less hustle and bustle lifestyle of the Thais and Cambodians. I had lots of time by myself during the long bus rides to look out the window and think and reflect. I had crazy moments posing for a gazillion pictures and enjoying nights out with those fantastic peeps i met in the programme. I had cozy conversations with the pple i grew close to. I had eye-opening talks with the copenhagen, yale students and the tour guides. Most of all, despite the hectic timetable, i enjoyed myself despite being apprehensive before the trip began. :)
It was temple after temple after temple after temple haha but when u actualli appreciate the beauty of it...it is juz wow! the intricateness of designs, architecture, the reliefs and inscriptions...u get so amazed and proud of these ancient southeast asian civilizations. We travelled by bus all day, visiting so many places and sometimes u get an information overload that by the time u reached the hotel at like 7pm at nite...u r juz so bushed. Even then, most pple still went out drinking, partying and clubbing...i diden ok hahahah but i did spend time goin to other pple's hotel rooms and laugh and talk cock. Its really nice :D
No doubt at certain points in the trip, there seemed to be some tension intra and inter groups/cliques. Well its kinda expected i guess, coz everyone's juz so tired that its easy to irritate and get on someone else's nerves. The professors were fantastic! They were so semangat and funny...that they seem to be ur frens rather than ur lecturers. Maybe that's the beauty of outdoor learning. No authority. Juz learning from one another in a casual manner.
I could go on and on describing my experiences. But i shant :p it would be too long and will get too draggy hahaha yes maly....i have grown quite a bit. I realise the importance of friends and their company but i also realise that in the real world, u r by urself and u need to learn to be independent. U need to learn to talk to pple if you wanna survive. U have to be open to criticism and not be over sensitive in dealing with issues. You will enjoy something if u put ur heart to it and look at it in a positive light. I have learnt. And i will continue learning. But for now.....now dat im back in spore....i still do wan the company of my great frenz....to treasure these moments before i go out into the working world. :)

Complacency
You learn more and more about yourself when u step out of your comfort zone and try out something new. You learn that sometimes, you get complacent and when it gets taken away from you, it shocks you bad. You learn that there are so many of others you can learn from. You learn that the law of attraction does work. You learn that when you you confront your fear and unease, things become so much nicer.
I learnt all that in the space of one week of my summer school programme. It seems a handful, but when you experience it, and you feel u wanna give up, you shouldnt :) I came into dis programme not knowing anyone. And when u arrive, pple have already formed cliques and u dun noe who to go out with for lunches, dinners or outings after class. Feeling lonely in lecture but i guess, when u brave yourself to join groups, you find yourself finding it more fun and more interesting to learn new stuffs and its actualli quite easy to talk 2 pple :) NUS pple are indeed friendly and polite and nice...It was no wonder my uni life was so fun, i had frens to hang out with. Great frens to be exact...and maybe its time for me to make new great frens of different race and cultures.
Meeting with yale and copenhagen students was definitely an eye opener. These are smart individuals who are so well read and well travelled. They have a world view far different than yours. I met this special needs student who viewed life with such a positive fervour. Everything seemed to be so nice so lovely so interesting. Every little thing can make her happy and smile for the whole day. Amazing! And i think her positiveness rubbed off on me :) And others who are so independent have so much experience travelling that they are so enthusiastic in sharing their experiences with you, i feel myself so humbled in the presence of these talented individuals.
Everything happens for a reason...and breaking my arm was one factor leading me to coming for this summer programme. Insya allah i will learn more about myself as the weeks go by. Be positive, stay postive...smile :)
