System within a Non-system
Last sunday, my perguruan organized a friendly match with 3 other perguruan for the kids to have a taste of sparring amidst a friendly atmosphere. We had like 10yrs old fighting each other and they were oh so cute! tak abis2 org sorak2 and tepuk tgn to applaud their efforts hehe den of coz the dewasa gave a good show under the hot hot sun!
Having like gone thru so so many events under pbm, ms, silat....im realli accustomed to a particular way of planning...u noe with minutes, layout plans, movement plans, logistic lists, food lists and all the other lists u can think of and the beribu2 plan B, plan C, wet weather plans what have u. Plus having a chain of command...who is responsible for wad and accountable to whom. Now....for the event, we had none of this!!! hahahhaa and can u believe it....it ran, i must say quite smoothly alhamdulillah. For one, i was made head logistics. BUT i did nothing on logistics on dat day except to direct some of the younger ones to angkat mattress and khemah2 (kata aku abg perrr ahhaha so got some power :p) the rest of the time, i was doing timekeeping, ketuk gong (or rather jaga budak2 yg nak sgt ketok gong sampai bole gaduh whose turn is nez), liaising with the MC and some of the perguruan nye team managers. Logs.....pakcik2 yg buat! haha Food...jgn cakap....mak2 yg buat seme! whatever roles that were put forth during the meeting all came to naught coz everyone did their own thing. But somehow it worked! haha
And about the wet weather prog, it was out in the open and the event supposed 2 last from 10-1. Naturally, start lambat haha RC chairman da sampai, kite maseh set up mat, satu team lom datang :p den i tanye la wad abt wet weather....well, the response i got was.....lets pray it doesnt rain. Oh and wad abt the hot sun? Let the pesilats take it as a challenge. Slamat tkde sesape yg heat stroke. And of coz the sun became too unbearable and the mat was so hot it was impossible to step on, let alone fight. even the referee was complaining good naturedly. Den! one of the pakcik had a brainwave. Manetah dier cari sponge.....dier soak it and put it sebelah the mat...so the pesilats bole cool their feet! hahaha i mean everythin was done goin with the flow, impromptu and having fun at the same time............so unbureucractic yet effective and the atmosphere was great, even attracting public interest, esp those yg nak gi org kahwin kat blk sebelah haha
