The 'Silly' Adventures of Mag-Wan-To, Laughin' Buda', Pak 'Aji, Sinseyyyy and Dagu-boy (11-16 May 09)
After many many months of painstaking planning, LTTA (a new travel agency) has made our trip worthy of remembrance (ni seme just dramatic effect haha) So it was a good 6 days in Jogjakarta and Bandung with lots of eventful happenings e.g. rushing for planes, seeing a student protest LIVE, getting up close and personal (almost) with SBY's convoy in Bandung, video commentaries in Tangkuban Perahu, Gunung Merapi, Borobudur and a political discussion at the back seat of the car about indonesian elections :p
Day 1 We checked into Hotel Phoenix, a lavish 5-star hotel that has a colonial feel to it :) And had our 1st Indonesian meal....something like ayam penyet but much much cheaper and sedaap! We dapat naik kuda and beca too! The beca was scary hahaha coz me naz and wan squeeze into a seat for two...and we almost went headon with a motor!!! Haha a 2-hr wayang kulit performance and a pizza supper! Day 2 We were bosses for the day! We hired a driver to drive us around and he was a very very nice guy...very accomodating and friendly. We went into the depths of the Sultan's palace grounds (Kraton), his water castle and then Borobudur! Ahhh byk camwhore! haha but we learnt lots of its history from our guide and tried unsuccessfully many jump shots :p and the long trip to gunung merapi was worth it......we reached exactly in time for sunset :) Day 3 A transit day....flight from Jogja to Jakarta and a frantic search for the most convenient transportation to Bandung. We finally enlisted the help of the customer service who liaised for us a minivan Primajasa to take us there for a rather affordable price. 3 hrs later and aching butts, we reached our 4-star hotel, much to our disappointment hahahaha coz the room was so ordinary :p BUT the good news......the weather was awesome! Day 4 Up and early.....but was raining! And rained all the way to Tangkuban Perahu....it was super cold and wet and windy and we tried making a video...action kite kat himalayas coz of the conditions and the surrounding area....alas we were deprived of doing so coz the locals there refused to let us shiok sendiri! hahahaha the rest of the day was spent shopping, going to Daarut Tauhid which had a lovely mosque and eating hehehe Day 5 Shopping Day part 2! But b4 dat, azmeer me and naz went for a swim and played ninja warrior! Me n azmeer cleared stage 1 but nazri failed on his 1st attempt. Tkpe lah...there is always nez year! And at the factory outlet....perempuan pon kalah ahhaha as we tried many2 baju and spent 3 hrs there! den coz of dat we had to cut short some of our later plans :p Day 6 Batik Day....and Home Sweet Home (of coz there was a mad rush in the morn coz we woke up late!)
