Soci and Life
I'm not kidding when i say soci is so applicable to the way we live life. Take today's lecture on 'interpersonal attraction and relationships' :p....about love, BGR and marriage hahaha we learn that choice of partners are based on who is available first - how often we see him/her, how close we are to them and how familiar are we (e.g. school setting)
Then the question of desirability...we tend to go those similar to us i.e. a malay tends to be attracted to a malay or a muslim attracted to another muslim and etc...of coz its open to contestation la...but generally its like dat (soci wad....general trends :p) and that we like people who like us and pple who ARE like us. The saying opposites attract...well its true oso lah...
And then the whole notion of physical attractiveness. There is this stereotype that good looking people have favourable characteristics. Then u would say, "that's not true!!! Coz love is NOT skin deep"
How bout when u are already in a relationship? well, you get closer...u share ur deeepest secrets, you learn to trust and u become more or less interdependent, meaning to say, you will have lesser reliance on others i.e. friends....Trade off perhaps? And of coz, relationships are not just rainbows, flowers and carebears. Conflict occur and the best way to solve is true accommodation and compromise. What say you??? :p
Sad huh that our love lives can be made into theories. But tell you what....enjoy what you have, cherish the moments and relive the memories as days go by hehehe
